We are looking for someone to join our Doncaster team. You will be instrumental in providing advice and information to individuals with disabilities who live independently. This is a varied role that is based in the office/home and will involve travel throughout the community. Location: Remote working but will need to attend a team meeting every 6 weeks in our Barnsley (S75 2BL) office. Salary: The full-time salary for this role is GBP22,992 per annum, increasing to GBP23,452 after probation. The pro rata salary is GBP9,942 per annum, increasing to GBP10,141 after probation. Hours: 16 hours per week Days & Times: Tuesday to Thursday, 9:00am 2:45pm, working hours to be confirmed at interview. Closing: Friday 7th April 2023 Interviews: TBC. The Role - As an Independent Living Adviser (Appointeeships), your main duties will include: Acting as an appointee for a caseload of individuals, to ensure all financial arrangements are properly documented and managed within Penderels Trust guidelines. Ensuring Appointeeships are managed in a person-centred approach that promotes the independence of the individual. Ensuring that systems are in place for each individual receiving an Appointeeship and to ensure that they are safeguarded from fraud and financial abuse. Liaising with Local Authorities, the Department of Work & Pensions and other official agencies in all matters relating to Appointeeships, including change of circumstances To organise and attend meetings and/or reviews with customers, colleagues, and local authority staff where necessary, including initial visits to new Appointeeships. To keep up to date with changes to legislation relating to Appointeeships Entering and maintaining information on a central database relating to all individuals receiving an Appointeeship Skills, Experience and Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following attributes: Experience of providing information or advice to others or within a customer service environment The ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, adapting your style to suit the audience. The ability to manage diary and workload effectively. The ability to produce letters and other documents to a high standard. The ability to input and maintain accurate data records. The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative. The ability to work flexibly and to deadlines.
