About this client/child:
Kareem is 16 years old and lives with his family in Hendon, he is supported by a dedicated and hard-working care team, that provides 24/7 support. Kareem is a sociable, outgoing, and charming young man with a love for music, and spending time with his family and friends - he loves being the centre of attention! Kareem sustained an injury at birth and as a result, has Cerebral Palsy and is dependent on others to meet all his health, care, and medical needs. Kareem is a wheelchair user, he requires suctioning municates through sounds, facial expressions, and body language. Kareem receives his nutrition orally and training is provided on how to feed safely. He is always up for exploring new interests and is very happy when his Support Workers suggest new activities.
Overview of role:
The Support Worke will provide 1:1 and at times, 2:1 care and support to Kareem, following his care plan. You’ll assist with Kareem’s personal care, administering medication, meal prep, and manual handling. You’ll promote Kareem’s independence and enable him to access munity, supporting his overall development, including implementing his physiotherapy programme. You will have the opportunity (if desired) to travel with and support Kareem on his holidays in the UK and abroad. With this es excellent training; therefore, the family does not need a candidate plex care experience; the right personality is key, and a willingness to learn. Kareem has a team of 5 Support Workers and there is a full-time vacancy available. The family can offer a maximum of 50 hours per week (minimum of 45 hours). 5 full days, core hours are 7.00 am to 6.00 pm. based on a rota provided one month in advance. The role requires some flexibility as it will involve working some weekends and evenings. £14.00 - £16.00 Gross per Hour (DOE) with an additional £1.00 on the hourly rate for weekends
