Health & Safety Manager
We are a successful and mercial and industrial electrical installation contractor based in Devon, operating throughout the UK on a wide variety of projects for many different clients. We are currently seeking an experienced health & safety manager to join our team and can offer petitive salary package working on exciting and varied projects within an excellent working environment.
About the Role:
As health and safety manager you will be responsible for overseeing pany’s health and safety policies and procedures, pliance with the latest legislation and promoting a culture in which health & safety is always prioritised, individuals understand their responsibilities and operations remain incident-free.
You will provide leadership, communicating information and expectations to project managers and site staff alike, and challenge them when standards are not met.
Responsibilities:
Identifying risks and developing and promoting strategies to minimise or eliminate them throughout pany’s operations. Producing and maintaining project specific RAMS. Carrying our regular site visits, conducting toolbox talks and producing reports. Reviewing and developing health and safety reports carried out by site staff and project managers. Identifying and delivering employee training requirements in respect of health and safety. Liaising closely with the project management team and site staff to fully understand project requirements. Implementation, control and management of internal health & safety procedures. Liaising with our external health & safety training and consultancy provider.
About the candidate:
NEBOSH qualified or equivalent, or a willingness to attain this Electrical / construction health & safety experience Understanding of all current H&S regulations and legislation and familiarity with CDM municator and team player, with leadership skills Excellent IT skills, familiar with all standard Microsoft office programs Driving licence and the willingness for regular travel

Job Description
Maintain, update and develop our existing health & safety document templates – RAMS, SHE reports etc.
Produce project specific RAMS for all new jobs, obtaining the necessary information by liaising with our estimators, contracts managers and site operatives, and from carrying out site visits.
Updating RAMS when new tasks are added, or site conditions change.
Regularly visiting site to assess conditions, carry out SHE reports, conduct toolbox talks, ensure plant inspections are being carried out etc.
Collating and managing project specific H&S documents RAMS, SHE reports etc. and distributing them to the relevant parties – our engineers, managers, clients etc.
Liaising with our own staff, our clients, and our external H&S advisers on H&S issues generally.
Investigating any H&S issues that arise, reporting on them, implementing strategies to avoid their recurrence.
Introducing new H&S procedures to improve what we do and how we do it.
Responsibility for our overall approach to H&S generally, ensuring we have robust H&S systems in place for everything we do and that everyone is utilising plying with them.
