Protec Fire Detection Facilities Manager Nelson, Lancashire GBP38,000 - GBP45,000 (dependent on experience) Full Time - 40 hour week Responsible To: Head of Risk and Compliance Protec Fire Detection have an opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join our Risk and Compliance team, based out of our Head Office in Lancashire. As part of the Risk and Compliance Department, the Facilities Manager shall take responsibility ensuring the maintenance and operation of buildings and other infrastructures are functioning optimally, safely and that all associated legal statutory checks are undertaken. The post holder will act as the appointed responsible electrical safety person (LO-ES). As part of a dynamic team and one of the foremost specialists within the industry, you will be involved with a number of leading projects within the construction industry. Responsibilities Coordinate and ensure that all legal statutory checks are maintained and recorded. Coordinate and control renovation and repair to facilities, plant and infrastructure. Day to day management of contractors. Ensure effective operation, service and preventative maintenance for all facilities, plant and equipment i.e. fire alarms and protective systems, heating, ventilation, plumbing, electrical system etc. Act as focal point for energy efficiency and waste management. Electrical safety responsible for location (duty holder). Provide coverage to security officer during absence. Provide coverage to fleet management during absence. Any other duties commensurate with the role. Qualifications Maths and English Electrical Engineering qualification would be advantageous Experience Several years experience in facility management area and in project management Experience working/integrating in a team environment Education background in engineering (preferably civil engineer, electrical engineer or mechanical) Experience as responsible person for electrical management in buildings, asbestos management and legionella management Skills/Abilities Strong communication and leadership skills Future and result oriented strategical mindset Ability to tackle complex problems Competent using Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook Excellent oral and written communication skills The ability to maintain accurate records Ability to communicate effectively with staff at varying levels throughout the company Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team Other Commitment to confidentiality and data protection Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
