An excellent opportunity Experienced Chocolatier/Pastry Chef to join a well-established company based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Permanent. Salary: GBP10.50 - GBP11.50 Per Hour, Depending on Experience. About The Role: Our client has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join their expanding team, they are looking for a part-time / full time ex pastry chef who has worked previously with chocolate and who is enthusiastic about all things confectionary. Must be outgoing and have great attention to detail. Their shop is located in Henden Bridge, West Yorkshire, selling traditional sweets, Luxury Chocolates, Biscuits, Cakes and provide hand crafted favours/hampers on demand. The position offered is initially part-time 3 days per week, including weekends. Hours of work will be 10am - 5pm over with additional hours to cover holidays and busy periods to suit the business needs. They are looking for a candidate who could ideally work weekdays and alternate weekends, please state working availability upon your application. Previous cash handling and retail or customer service experience is advantageous along with basic mathematical skills. A knowledge of working in a food preparation environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Duties and tasks to include: Keyholder; responsible for the opening and closing of the shop as well as overseeing the upkeep, maintenance and general cleanliness of the store and it s premises Converse with customers to identify their purchasing requirements and assist in locating desired items Provide customers with essential product information Provide solutions or replies to address customers problems or inquires in a professional manner Oversee the labelling of products to ensure correct prices are reflected Attention to detail when displaying stock items and rotation of stock Monitor displayed products to facilitate replenishment of emptying shelves Adapt to bagging and boxing luxury individual chocolates as required. Collect cash payments and process card transactions for the purchase of goods, as well as cashing up at close of business. Evaluate stock inventory to determine the need for new supplies or product order Receive new stock orders and ensure proper storage of excess stock Correct disposal of all waste to leave the premises - training will be provided. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of store products and services in order to effectively conduct sales Upsell and cross sell in order to increase sales and maximize company profits Keep a watchful eye for shoplifters and pilferers to minimize risk of theft Maintain a presentable can do attitude and appearance including hair tied back near open food sources, no false nails or unnecessary jewellery and clean aprons to be worn at all times (apron will be provided). The ability for Lone working and capability of timekeeping are essential. Candidate Requirements: Education and Training: A background in retail sales and/or customer services as well as food safety. Further training will be provided ie) Food safety and Intolerance course will be provided after probationary period. Customer Service Skills: Shop Supervisors are adept at courteously relating with customers to meet their requirements. Communication Skills: Be able to effectively communicate with customers to identify their purchasing needs and communicate with managers of any future business needs. IT Skills: Be proficient in using computer systems, EPOS till points, PDQ machines and cash handling. Knowledge of end of day procedures and keyholder responsibilities is advantageous and further training will be provided. Willingness to learn new skills and communicate those skills effectively.
