Vw corrado 2.0 16v 162,000
1996/97 model year - this is a rare one as they only made/registered a handful of Corrado's on a P-reg & this year. Depending on the website you use & check on the stats, some say four were made, some say six... But either way it's still a very low number & a rare one too.
So, Welcome to the advert for my much loved & reluctant sale of my Corrado. Have owned it for about 7years & have done very little mileage in that time. I'd say 2000/3000 miles at rhe most. It was a summer fun car & local VW Shows.
It's in the amazing Dark Burgundy pearl metallic colour, which looks stunning in day light & at the twilight time of the evening too. It has the Standard 9A 2.0 16v engine fitted & 5spd gearbox. Comes fitted with a set of custom 5stud Polished Porsche 7 slots alloy wheels with hub adapters. Sitting on a set of coilovers, so it's really low & a hard ride, but gives superb handling & road presence! Has remote central locking, electric windows & mirrors, electric sunroof, power steering & electric active tilt rear spoiler which works fine when you hit 55mph. Has a gloss black debadged grill fitted.
Mot'd till the July 2023. I've just recently spent £850 on the car... It's had two new rear calipers & pads, copper brake pipes replaced front to back, brake fluid change, full service, antifreeze change, new oil cooler, various water hoses in the engine bay, belts replaced & new ignition switch, but not fitted that yet.
Has also been fitted with a brand new radiator, a new water hose & another antifreeze change. Exhaust has been repaired & welded up, as had a slight blow at one of the connection joints.
Also for it's recent MOT, it's had two brand new front tyres, costing £210.
Has Audi TT grey leather seats fitted, which are really comfy & set the interior of the car off really nicely. Has a Polo 1.3S steering wheel fitted, which are quite rare now.
Now the bads bits - the sunroof does slide back. Could well be an easy fix, but just never really bothered me, so never sorted it out. So there are a few wedges on the headlining to make it sit up flush with the roof. I do have a complete second hand sunroof mechanism, that will go with the sale of the car. The are various dents, paint blemishs, rust spots or pitting around the car. Nothing major yet. The paint work looks great & has a superb shine, but mainly the passenger door, has had a bad repair in its time & along some of that side tooo.... Scuff on front corner edge of bumper, done by a kind person in a car park, two days after its mot & didn't leave any details ... The car is 25 years old, so it's not going to be a show winning, show room edition example. It's been used, it's had a life, so there are areas that will need attention, just depending on what you want out of this car? It can be used straight away or get a full respray, make it that show winner & spend the money on it. These are getting rare now & will only go up in value, especially this one, as its a P-reg.
