Our client is currently seeking an Internal Technical Sales Executive to join their team at their branch in Carlow, Ireland. They are searching for a bright and enthusiastic individual to become part of their friendly team. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers continuous sales development and training.
For over 55 years, our client has built a reputation as a specialist technical distributor of automation and control components, devices, and solutions. They have established a reputation for providing exceptional customer service, an established supplier portfolio, and technical support. They now employ over 160 people and offer a local service to their customers from their 14 branch locations throughout the UK & Ireland.
As a member of the team, the Technical Sales Executive will be responsible for handling technical customer enquiries, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring that clients receive the highest level of service. By utilising your excellent interpersonal skills and technical / industry knowledge you will develop long-term relationships with clients, ensuring that their requirements and business needs are handled quickly and effectively.
The main duties of the role include:
Answer incoming enquiries to sell and support the company product rangeProactively make outgoing calls qualifying prospects and closing sales to meet targetsAccurately process quotations and sales orders using in house systemsTimely administration of quotations using in house quotation software.Ensure customer records are updated frequently and accurately on the Customer Relationship Management SoftwareLiaising with our franchise partners to ensure a continued awareness of new and updated productsUndertake continual training to ensure awareness of new and updated products and solutions, and to keep customers informed of the latest technologiesInteract with customers to resolve any queries or issuesProvide feedback to the sales team on newly emerging opportunities, proactively assisting as requiredMaintain culture of continuous improvement and excellence in customer serviceCollate and co-ordinate information requested for management purposes
Skills, Knowledge and Experience

To effectively handle the technical requirements of this position, you should have a good level of technical understanding, an electrical engineering qualification or knowledge from working within the industry is desirableKnowledge of the Electrical /Industrial automation sector would be desirableA proactive/can do attitude towards helping the business grow.A proven track record within a technical sales role.Experience of making proactive outgoing telephone calls.A passion for sales combined with an eye for engineering solutions.Excellent customer interaction skills.Strong organisational, administrative and telephone skills.Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.Excellent attention to detail such that customer orders and information are accurate.Confident telephone manner.Computer literate (MS Office).
