Gordon Turner Optometrists is a friendly, independent opticians based in Cheam recognised for providing high standards of eye health care and expertise in complex contact lenses and myopia control. We are recruiting for a full–time Receptionist and Administrator to join our team to provide a professional and welcoming service to all our patients.
Responsibilities
This position is varied and plays an important role in assisting with the day–to–day running of an optometry practice. It includes but not limited to:
Front of house role involving the welcoming and greeting of patients and handling payments.Handling general enquiries in person, by telephone and by email.Answering questions about our eye care services and the ability to communicate clinical advice to patients as directed by the Optometrists.Managing a booking system for our Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians.Inputting patient data into the patient management software.Preparing patient record cards and NHS paperwork for consultations.Ordering and stock control of contact lenses, contact lens solutions, spectacles and eye care products including processing patient contact lens and spectacle orders.Obtaining feedback on patient contact lens trials.General administration duties including Direct Debits and filing.Responsible for maintaining the presentation of the reception/waiting area to a high standard. Training
An interest in learning to develop your knowledge of optics is essential as you will be required to promote and explain our eye care services to our clients both on the phone and face to face. Training will be provided to develop your skills and knowledge in all aspects of this position.
Requirements

Proven reception/administration experience.Minimum 5 GCSEs at Level 5 (Grade C) and above including Maths and English.Strong organisational skills with accuracy and attention to detail.Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.Capable of multi–tasking.Bright, friendly personality that easily builds rapport with people.Confident in customer facing role.Comprehensive ability to use Windows based software and technology.
