My Client, a supplier of consumables to the retail sector now has an excellent opportunity for a Category Manager to join their team in Greater Manchester.
Working for a well-established business within the FMCG sector this role will offer excellent long-term career progression.
Job Purpose:
The main role of the Category Manager is to develop and deploy a sound category strategy, to demonstrate expertise and understanding of the products in your category in order to generate savings, drive sales, introduce innovation and sustainable alternatives for our customers. The Category Manager will also manage a team of Buyers and help to deliver their category responsibilities and targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Help to drive improvements in commercial value through creative thinking and ambitious procurement initiativesDevelop and deploy Category Strategies for category portfolioImprove our working capital position by negotiating improved payment terms and payment deferralsNegotiate supplier pricing to ensure best total cost of ownership for the businessDrive customer cost savings via rate reductions, resourcing, value engineering and cost in use projectsSource new products and suppliers to drive growth and reduce costsCarry out range reviews, delivering product development, innovation, sustainable alternatives, simplification and cost savingsManage tender submissions and product enquiriesManage supplier relationships and drive supplier developmentSupport supply chain to maintain continuity of supply and ensure a robust supply chainSupport the technical services team to drive supplier performance and continuous improvementSupport, develop, guide and mentor direct reports Experience required:
