Appoint Consulting is proud to be working with a well-established, forward thinking legal firm in the Grimsby area to recruit an experienced Legal Assistant to join their team. Purpose of the role: To provide cost effective administration and legal support to the partner and other fee earners in the team in the work of the Department. Key duties and responsibilities Handling own caseload of files from instruction, to issuing proceedings and enforcement and under the supervision of a more senior fee earner. Undertake certain elements of fee earning work under supervision. In particular: file creation; Generation of suitable client care correspondence; Completion of client questionnaires; Drafting of petition/court documentation; Attendance at routine meetings/interlocutory hearings. Deal wherever possible with routine client enquiries and communications. Manage the collation of matter start and matter completion data by agreement with the fee earners in the Department. General administrative tasks, including monthly reporting on cases for client purposes and invoicing of files. Deputise for fee earners in their absence if necessary, passing urgent issues to another senior fee earner for guidance (if a small team). Comply faithfully in all respects with directions and/or requests from the Partner/fee earners you are responsible to Comply with the department's policy in so far as own caseload is concerned regarding taking and confirming instructions; client care; file management; file organisation and file review procedures Use the firm's IT solutions to implement, manage and maintain own diary system to ensure the efficient progress of own caseload Seek assistance whenever appropriate from Partner/colleagues in respect of unusual or difficult problems/issues arising on any cases Contribute towards own self development and attend training arranged for you Provide support to other fee earners as required Report immediately to the Partner on any issue/complaint re: professional conduct and/or client dissatisfaction and/or potential negligence or negative costs implications for the firm Promote good relations with other members of staff and facilitate teamwork Requirements Experience within a similar role is desirable Ability to work on own initiative and to deadlines Great attention to detail and communication skills are required If this sounds like the role for you, apply now!
