Parkside House School is an Independent Special School, approved for pupils with Special Education Needs by the Department for Education. Our school aims to provide a high-quality education package to pupils who have difficulties in relating to education or others within a mainstream setting.
The school is registered to accommodate 35 pupils from 10 - 18 years; we specialise in teaching pupils with Emotional, Social and Behavioural needs, and with other associated learning and cognitive difficulties.
The aim of the site is to provide enough support to unlock each child's potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. We provide young people with as much freedom as possible in a safe and supervised environment. This is achievable due to the dedication and support from a range of employed professionals who are passionate, reliable, and understanding
Following the expansion of Parkside House School, we are seeking to employ a hardworking and resilient individual to work as a Learning Support Assistant supporting children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and moderate learning difficulties (MLD). The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team and provide high quality assistance for our pupils in order to maximise each and every child's potential. We accept applicants with relevant experience in a similar role ideally supporting children with autism, we accept applicants with relevant backgrounds such as mainstream education, working in the care sector and nursing care.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant children and young people we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys.
You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.
Supporting children with complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs is important and rewarding work, and you will benefit from the tremendous support offered by our hugely experienced teams. As you help our children and young people achieve real and significant progress, you will enjoy having a direct, positive impact on their developing lives.
Who we are looking for
You don't need any experience to join our team. If you have relevant experience in a similar role, ideally supporting children with autism or with a background in mainstream education/care/nursing care and are eager to help vulnerable children and young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, this is the role for you. We will provide you with full training and development to succeed within your role.
You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising children as they explore further afield.
