Full time remote HR Policies Specialist - local to Somerset - GBP385 per day Your new company Working for a government company. This role is for 6 months with the potential to be extended. Pay is GBP385 per day Monday - Friday standard office hours. All equipment is provided. Your new role The role-holder will lead on the formulation of new or the revision of existing companies policies by researching best practice policies and practices, and by drafting reports and/or policy papers with recommendations. These to be submitted to ELT for approval. The role-holder will be responsible for all implementation actions including stakeholder engagement with trade unions, staff and management including writing communications documents and leading in this area of meetings. Leading on communications and training plans for HR staff, managers and employees. Other duties will include liaising with the HR Systems Expert to ensure any necessary upgrades and/or development is arranged to ensure appropriate governance of the policies. The role-holder should have a good understanding of current legal and best practice arrangements in HR policy within public and private sector employers, and presenting preferred options for discussion with management. The role-holder will ensure that any new policies are aligned with company core values, are set out in plain English, and from their wording through to implementation, aim to enhance the employee experience and give managers more confidence in using them. The role-holder will be responsible for considering the diversity and inclusion impacts of any new policy or procedure and ensuring appropriate Equality Impact Assessments are completed. The role-holder will provide advice to HR Business Partners, HR staff and managers relating to the implementation of the new HR Polices and Procedures. What you'll need to succeed Previous experience within implementing/ updating/ renewing policies. Previous experience of working within the Civil Service would be advantageous.
