Salary: GBP55,000 per annum, Band G, Level 3 (inclusive of Outer London Weighting & Market Supplement)
Woking Hours: 35 hours per week

The Group Sustainability Manager Role:
As our Group Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for pulling together all the strands of what we currently do. The successful candidate will need to translate this into a clear coherent Scouts policy and supporting strategy, including the transition to net zero, which must have clear deliverables and milestones.
Key responsibilities as our Group Sustainability Manager:
• Being a visible figurehead and subject matter for all things sustainability
• Taking ownership for understanding how the Scouts are performing in each key area
• Working closely with internal Heads of Departments across the Scouts to bring together what the business is already doing and to focus existing resources optimally through challenging an influencing
• Creating, building and shaping a single, coherent Scouts sustainability policy and strategy (including the transition to net zero). It must have clear deliverables and roadmap to net zero, that delivers against what is expected of a modern organisation
• Ensuring that the newly created Scouts policy & strategy is communicated clearly
• Collating and regularly reporting on scope 1, 2, 3 and avoided carbon emissions to show the impact of our strategy
• Monitoring environmental legislation, industry standards and best practice to ensure policies are updated and deployed to manage risk
• Providing regular reporting to the Executive Leadership Team on the strategy, progress against net zero plans and update in any changes to legislation or standards
What we are looking for in our Group Sustainability Manager:
• Proven experience as a Sustainability Manager, or similar
• Proven experience in writing, developing and implementing an Sustainability Policy and Strategy
• Excellent written and verbal communicator, with strong attention to detail
• Team player with ability to work collaboratively with varied stakeholders, as well as independently.
• The ability and confidence to build strong relationships and influence people at all levels of the business
• The ability to prioritise
• Innovative thinker with ability to problem-solve using common sense and pragmatism
• Flexibility to travel to our Nationally owned premises
• Strong knowledge of current sustainability legislation, best practice & initiatives
