JOB TITLE: Factory Engineering Manager
LOCATION: Halifax
DURATION: Permanent Role
PAY: Competitive (Maximum base salary GBP85,000) + 12% bonus and 17% car allowance
Our client is the home of many iconic confectionery brands and they are looking for an experienced and results driven Factory Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function through an exciting period of the site's development. This role is about working closely and being visible with the team in the factory to drive forward engineering and planned maintenance on site, encompassing the following elements: acceleration of the clients TPM journey, optimisation of their maintenance strategy and execution effectiveness, support the roll out of investments and development of their technical capabilities of the technicians team but as well the workforce.
As an Engineering Manager you will provide engineering professional and technical leadership in the Factory, ensuring compliance to standards, rules and regulations, ensuring people health and safety, product safety and environment are never compromised and that all engineering activities enhance business objectives, product quality and plant operation and performance.
Provide engineering leadership in the Factory for a large engineering team of approximately 50 engineers including up to 5 direct reports. The role scope covers all the production units as well as site services and utilities.Ensure engineering compliance is maintained providing safe equipment for people, product and the environmentProvide maintenance management for the site, including PM Pillar Leadership within a TPM environment and the use of SAP PM Maintenance management system.Responsible for developing and managing the site's Maintenance budget.Support Engineering Project team with the implementation and delivery of CAPEX projects on siteAs a member of the site's Management Team you will help the development of the Factory Operational Master Plan, drive the continuous improvement mind-set and align the Engineering function to support its delivery. To be successful in this key role we expect you to ideally have experience leading a team of skilled engineers in a fast-paced blue chip manufacturing maintenance environment.
Other key attributes we are looking for are:
Engineering Degree/ Diploma preferably in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.Demonstrable experience in TPM and leading AM/ PM pillars.Proven relevant experience in engineering management within manufacturing.Experience in people development and management tools (including personal development plan, talent review, coaching, competencies training, career & succession planning, recruitment and compensation).The ability to demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Understanding of food safety and hygienic engineering standards.
