CNC Setter Operator

A successful Combustion Engineering company are looking to expand within their Precision machining department.
The successful candidate will be an experienced CNC setter/operator, ideally experienced on Mazak CNC machines.
This role will require a highly skilled individual that can set and operate CNC machines, predominantly CNC lathes but it will be advantageous if the candidate can also set/operate CNC mills.
Quality is at the core of what we do and therefore, the successful candidate will be expected to understand and instil our quality requirements. The successful candidate will need to be dynamic and hands-on in their role to enable the demanding delivery requirements to be met.
This role will be based out of their workshops in Biggin Hill, Kent. The successful applicant must be able to commute here.
Role, Responsibilities & Duties
- Set & Operate CNC turning and milling machines.
- Change over machine from one job to another within a set time frame.
- Ability to read and understand CNC programs.
- Able to use micrometers, verniers and other inspection equipment to check work to drawing dimensions and validation sheets.
- Maintain quality and ability to machine to tight tolerances.
- Deal with technical queries where possible, as and when required.
- Operate the forklift.
- Unload deliveries and store deliveries in correct location.
- Maintain storage areas and keep in an orderly manner.
- Carry out general housekeeping of the department individually and with other members of the team.
- Follow a Quality management system ISO9001.
- Experience with Mazatrol preferred.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Commutable distance to Biggin Hill area.
