Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician to support North East London NHS Foundation Trust. This is a LOCUM opportunity for the duration of 12-weeks with the likelihood of extension. This is a full-time placement with 37.5 hours per week available. Part-time applications will be considered.
Job Purpose: Band 6 Pharmacy Technician
Pay Rate: £25.00 LTD p/h + £250 WELCOME BONUS
Location: Goodmayes Hospital, Ilford
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30
Key Responsibilities:
To support the delivery of the medicines strategy and vision for the department and the Trust, focusing on promoting independence and reducing potential for harm to patients from medicines in all settings.
To support the clinical pharmacy leads and contribute to the delivery of a safe and effective technician led service
Medicines reconciliation
Assessment of medicines related needs and use of compliance aid to improve adherence
Discharge counselling, provision of MAR charts, follow up, monitoring and review
Write and review SOPs and policies in line with Trust priorities and local needs, ensuring understanding and compliance through effective communication and training.
Assist the lead pharmacy technician and senior leadership team in risk assessment, service development and improvement initiatives
Support the development of training programmes for pharmacy staff and other disciplines to raise awareness and compliance with medicines management policies and procedures.
Being part of an integrated pharmacy team, working collaboratively with inpatient and community-based services to ensure that the medicines needs of patients are met through a multidisciplinary patient-focused approach.
Essential
Registered with the GPhC
Previous experience working with the NHS
Desirable:
Previous training and experience in Accuracy Checking (ACT)
