We are looking for a Student Services Officer to join our busy team in Leicester!
The role requires an enthusiastic and innovative individual to be a productive member of a small cross–functional team.
Salary: GBP23,000–26,000 per annum
Student Services Officer Role:
The SSO role is integral to the central college team in both the administration and delivery of key aspects of the student experience. You will be responsible for the implementation and delivery of effective services including enrolment and orientation, student welfare and other support needs, enrichment and enhancement activities, and overseeing student forums and committees. You will also be involved with the administrative processes surrounding teaching, learning, assessment and exams, maintenance of accurate student records as well as central communication with LGSC students and other stakeholders. There will be a requirement to familiarise yourself with the college's financial systems and processes surrounding the issuing of invoices and collection of fees. The SSO will support all policies and regulations relating to the student environment, ensuring each student has the appropriate academic programme and support in place to enable them to perform to the best of their ability.
This will include:
Ensuring all administrative tasks within your remit are completed efficiently, timely and to a high standard.Providing a welcoming presence at the college by interacting with our students in a positive manner and promoting an excellent educational environment.Maintaining knowledge of all LGSC programmes and policies to enable the communication of accurate and up to date information to the students at any given time.Participating in the development and implementation of an effective and enjoyable enrolment and orientation experience,Planning and implementing an on–going programme of student–centred events and activities.Assisting with the organisation and implementation of the student Compass programmeSignposting students to internal and external student support services relating to health, wellbeing and all aspects of the international student experience. Supporting the marketing and admissions team with student conversion activities as required at key points in the recruitment cycle.Reporting student status as requested, to internal and external stakeholders under Student visa sponsorship management duties Student Services Officer Requirements:
University level qualifications or at least two (2) years' experience in a relevant industry and/or have equivalent qualifications and/or professional experience.Experience of working in a client facing role.Excellent communication skills. The role demands effective communication with staff and students from a diverse range of cultural and educational backgrounds.Excellent written English language communication skills.Good data processing, analysis and presentation skills.Good administrative and organisational skills.The ability to work independently and as part of a team.An understanding of the importance of file management (including electronic files).An ability to prioritise duties and to seek clarification and guidance when faced with competing priorities.To be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of equal opportunities, equity and workplace health and safety principles with an ability to implement them at the strategic and/or operational level.To thrive when working under pressure.A flexible attitude to work including a willingness to work weekends and evenings in support of student and administrative activities.A commitment to continued professional development. Experience of working in a student support role.Experience of working in a multi–cultural environment.Customer services training.Experience of project management.An understanding of social media platforms for corporate use.Experience of using Microsoft ExcelExperience of Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) such as Blackboard About Us:
