The Role
Here at Axe Valley Veterinary Practice, we are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The position will include a range of Nursing responsibilities such as Nurse Clinics, Anaesthetics, Inpatient Care and Laboratory work. The role will involve a combination of working at our Weston and Blackford branch, with 2 days per week at each. We can be flexible for the right candidate.
Shifts are 8 hours per day, 4 days per week ranging from 7:00am to 7:00pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Weekend work will be required, either Saturday's 1:3 at our Weston branch 8:30am-1:00pm or joining the on-call rota at our Blackford branch; 8:30am-1:00pm Saturday and 8:30am-10:30am on Sunday, both days include being on call until 7:00pm. Weekend shifts are paid on top of normal salary. Well behaved dogs are welcome to come to work too.
The salary will be up to £29,000 depending on experience based on 40 hours per week.
About Us
The practice is well equipped with a supportive and friendly team. We have extensive diagnostic and clinical tools including endoscopy, ultrasonography, digital radiography (including dental radiography), in-house laboratory and much more! We are based in rural Somerset with lots of lovely walks on the doorstep in Blackford and stroll to the beach in Weston.
Currently we have 9 Veterinary Surgeons, including 1 Medicine Certificate holder and 3 more in the process with Surgical, Medicine and Exotics, 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, 3 Animal Nursing Assistants and 18 Support Staff.
Applicant Requirements
An experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse is preferred, but not essential, due to some occasional sole charge branch work.
