Join us on the Journey We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our dynamic operations team based at Stewarts in Reading. In this role you will direct, coordinate and exercise functional authority for the planning, compliance, control and integration of all elements of fleet operations. Assign personnel, plan and organise staff according to business requirements. Coordinate all activities concerned with transport operations, ensuring a collaborative, communicated and unified approach from all companies across the group. The role will further involve participation in the Private Hire and Contract Sales functions working in conjunction with the Group's sales and Commercial functions.
What you'll do
Deliver the local Operations policy in line with the Company's strategic objectives including achievement of sales budgetEstablish, monitor and control overall performance for the operations function.Overall responsibility for the P&L for the business unit.Responsible for business planning and budgeting activities.Control spending against operations budgets ensuring that all financial targets are met.Responsible for the day to day management of operations functionResponsible for the enforcement of all safety regulationsContinually improve the efficiency and performance of operations to ensure that all service delivery and KPI contractual requirements are metEvaluate and improve usage of the fleet and work methods embracing continuous improvementEnsure the highest levels of customer satisfaction, investigating any issues or problems immediately and reporting solutions and outcomes back to line management. Ensure that customer experience is central to everything that happens within the groupEnsure that the operational and office team resources are at a level relevant to business needsDeal with driver and other training, performance and disciplinary mattersPromote positive morale and cooperation with all employees. What you'll need
Excellent understanding of the road passenger transport sector, including all relevant legal and external regulations and requirements for the operation of passenger carrying vehiclesExcellent working knowledge of all daily site procedures, health and safety regulations, employment legislation, and people management practicesExperienced in managing and motivating a team to achieve high standards of performance Flexible approach to working hoursThorough appreciation of the needs of external customers and external stakeholders, coupled with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement effective action plansA managers' National CPC qualification is desirable What we offer in return for your hard work and commitment:
