Art Deco, Dorset, Portland stone font

An exceptional, original and rare Dorset (Sherborne) Art Deco (1930’s), Portland Stone, octagonal Church Font.
Carved with “IHS”, the Christogram for Jesus Christ, inside a classic quatrefoil.
Very heavy and robust.
Overall diameter is 23cm x 23cm, height is 16cm, bowl diameter is 14.5cm and weighs 13 kgs.
Would e either from a private chapel, or one of the old churches or a refurbished part of the Abbey.
