Advertising Sales Coordinator

Working Hours: 20-25 hours per week, taken flexibly within working hours (9am-5pm weekdays)
Salary: GBP15,000 (FTE of GBP22,200 - GBP27,750, dependent on experience). Plus additional uncapped 20% commission on all sales made over GBP30,000 annual target.

The Role - Advertising Sales Coordinator:
In early 2020, Future Radio's landlord, Open Youth Trust, declared bankruptcy, meaning the station had to operate virtually until it found a suitable new home. Finally, almost three years later, the station has found a new premises and raised the funds it needs to move in and get going on site, at Norwich's local radio station. As part of the move process, a Sustainability Plan has been developed to grow the station's income streams now that it is setup in its new home.
A key element to the plan is the recruitment of an Advertising Sales Coordinator, to take ownership of Future Radio's advertising sales, build a portfolio of advertising clients and to establish radio advertising as the station's core income stream, ensuring its sustainability for years to come.
The Advertising Sales Coordinator will have a proactive and creative attitude to identifying and developing strong relationships with new clients. You will have strong people skills, be highly organised and able to manage client management systems and have an affinity with the community-benefitting aims of the radio station and wider charity.
Ideally, you will have experience with B2B sales, client management systems, and managing client relationships. However full training will be provided and experienced colleagues will be on-hand to support as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities - Advertising Sales Coordinator:
Following induction and training around the existing advertising sales processes, take full ownership of the sales responsibilities, developing expertise in the area to upgrade processes as required.Increase the income generated from advertising sales, to become the station's majority income stream and to ensure its long-term sustainability.Work with the Future Radio staff and volunteer team to ensure advertising sales complement the station's objectives and broadcast capacity.Develop Customer Relationship Management systems, to manage the sales pipeline, process and client experience.Build on the lead generation sources currently utilised by the station, to ensure a regular supply of new prospects.Engage with prospects following existing and/or new approaches, such as cold calling, networking events or inviting guests on-air. Ensure all services are delivered to high standard, including drafting impactful advert script and commissioning quality radio adverts, which effectively target clients' customer demographics.Respond to all advertising enquiries promptly and effectively.Establish and follow quality relationship management practices and ensure all clients report positively on the advertising experience.Ensure the advertising experience exceeds clients' expectations, including that all commitments are delivered within stated timeframes and that there is regular correspondence with all clients. Gather testimonials from clients at key interaction stages, to demonstrate the value and impact of advertising with Future Radio.Attend monthly income reviews and keep up to date with the station's performance against income targets.Regularly update and report back on the sales pipeline, including all prospects approached, communicated with, meetings held, sales achieved and so on.Ensure colleagues are informed as to the status of key advertising clients and are notified of any significant developments right away.Contribute to the development of marketing materials, particularly those to do with sales, advertising and/or commercial opportunities at the station.Creatively utilise the portfolio of advertising clients to add value to the station and/or the charity, such as with contra arrangements for services, making introductions to organisations that may benefit from the station's other commercial services and so on.Seek advice and support from colleagues as required.
