Retro Superb 1980s Vintage Metronome 'Wittner' German Metronome with Mustard Interior/Veneer wood- Excellent condition
This lovely German Made Wittner Metronome is in amazing condition and features a detachable front cover and a little plastic lever on the door to secure it in place. The Wittner motif stands proud in its gorgeous diamond shape cast on a gold metal, probably brass. The interior colour is a deep mustard golden yellow, this looks stunning as an interior piece as well as a musical aid.
This retro 1980s model has a mahogany finish to the case, this has been lightly cleaned and has been rubbed down to retrieve its warmth back in the wood.
The metal swinging arm has a weight which moves down along its length to match the desired bpm, which is clearly marked on the back plate.
Since 1895, Gustav Wittner founded a precision mechanical factory for the production of Metronomes, which his son Rudolf Wittner expanded one by one to a medium-sized industrial plant.
Soon new standards were established. This model was made in around 1950s using the highest grade of hardwoods and precision mechanics coupled to produce one of Wittners world renowned wood case metronomes.
The metronome has its original ball feet and wind up key to the side, be sure not to overwind.

Known for offering beautifully finished pieces that combine both style and accuracy, Wittner metronomes are not only trusted but sought after. The 811M 810 Series metronome comes housed in a strong wooden box with a distinctly traditional finish and fitted with a clear bell. No batteries are required, since this timing-piece is operated via a wind-up mechanism. The tempo is easily set by sliding the weight into the correct position along the length of the pendulum, where the beats per minute are clearly indicated. The metronome will then tick in time to the specified tempo and the bell will sound the beginning of each bar. When not in use, this metronome is protected by a matching dust cover.
