ULEZ COMPLIANT 2004 Black Cherry Convertible Mazda MX5 in Immaculate Condition.

Perfect summer or weekend car. 70,000 miles.

I have always been a huge car enthusiast, so my Mazda was under excellent care and attention since ownership. This is a very special car; when not serving me to my utmost satisfaction, it’s garnered the attention and affection of friends, family, and many passersby. I am selling my beloved Mazda as I have set my eyes on a new car, but this Mazda is the type of car you fall in love with at first sight, and feel the thrill and comfort every time you drive it. The MX-5 is known to be one of the greatest cars to drive with its 50/50 weight distribution and they rarely face problems with their bulletproof engine.

Driving experience:
As you fire up the engine, a drooling deep growl is produced through its twin exit cobalt back box (£400). It provides a beautiful gurgle on the downshifts and has a very satisfying sound during a cold start. The clutch in this car is heaven - there is no clutch slip. The gearbox is extremely smooth and the car picks up speed very fast. The car is nippy and fun to drive. Its aerodynamically shaped body cuts through the air and glides over all the bumps. Surprisingly, It’s comfier than my other car German cars.

Aesthetics:
The car is on standard suspension and has a gorgeous set of aftermarket wheels (£550). All 4 have a good amount of tread on the tyres. The car has a deep (detailed) cleanse weekly with a pressure washer, polar snow foam, (magma iron remover every couple of months), shampoo, and wax to keep paintwork perfect by avoiding swirl marks. The car has a ceramic coating to give it a deep, resilient shine. The reflection is quite literally a mirror. There is a small crack in the rear bumper but can be easily fixed with heat. The rear side of the car has been machine polished.

Rust:
MX-5’s known enemy is rust. However, you may wish to bring a screwdriver and poke as much as you like as the car has absolutely zero rust. Both of the rear sills have been repaired as they were just starting to corrode. New parts have been welded in new metal, seam-sealed, and painted the bits in black underseal. The front chassis legs are still structurally sound.

Maintenance (Service History/ MOT/ Insurance/ Fuel):
Fully stamped service history from 2004 until 2018 fully serviced by the previous owner in 2021 after purchasing the car. Cambelt + water pump changed at 68,000 miles on 3/1/20; unfortunately, there is no proof. All that the car has needed in my ownership is an O/S/F caliper and a rocker cover gasket. You may wish to check on DVLA and will find that it’s not had a single advisory since records began. MOT will come with 12 months once sold.

I swear by using Shell E5 in all the cars I own as it keeps the mechanical engine lubricated. I have always kept the car idle for a minute after driving for some time to settle the engine. A full tank will get you 450+ miles easily and with its aerodynamic body, you rarely have to give it gas.

Insurance has proven to be extremely affordable for a 22-year-old - prices ranging around £1k in a London Location with no black box.

In April 2021, the car was Cat N registered due to age! All repairs were completed without considering the cost. The ONLY thing that remains is that its front bumper needs painting at the cost of £200 or so. If you would like the bumper painted, I can get this sorted.
