Cardiff Containers launched in summer 2018 as a sister project to Meanwhile House which has been part of the Cardiff studio scene since 2016. The new spaces were quickly filled by a diverse range of creative and enterprising individuals including a barista, graphic designer, illustrator and radio station. We’ve now completed work on the second phase of the project, with the addition of a second and third layer of containers stacked on top of the first, connected by steel walkways and stair with a coffee shop and bathroom facilities on the second floor.

Meanwhile House and Cardiff Containers sit side by side and currently house a bustling community of over 100 different small business and creatives, from artists, designers and makers, to chocolatiers, fitness studios and hairdressers. Our long term goal is to nurture a thriving creative quarter in central Cardiff and give more local start-ups and creatives the space they need to grow.

Cardiff Containers is located just to the south of Cardiff Central train station, near Brain's Brewery.
From Penarth Road take the turning between Big Yellow Storage and Kwik Fit - Curran Embankment. The containers are around 100m down on the left-hand side, next to Meanwhile House Cardiff
