This new and additional role within our Trade Association is a great opportunity for an experienced practitioner with expertise in construction and concrete, to help lead our outreach and engagement with key Members, advice to non-Members and other influencers on behalf of the concrete sector. Some of the core duties will involve:
- Raising the profile of our Society through expert support and advice to the construction industry, whilst maintaining the values and integrity of the Society, both to our Members and non-Members. Supported by a small number of engineers reporting to you.
- Attending sites throughout the UK to assess concrete construction problems and preparing reports on the findings with recommendations. In the same way answers questions with solutions on any relevant matter or issue with a technical content.
- Representing the Society on Committees and Working Groups when required, both internally and externally, and preparing and delivering, throughout the UK, topical technical lectures and presentations.
That's just to start with of course, and as with all of our roles, you certainly won't be short of interesting and varied work! In all of this, you you will form part of a small but highly effective and agile team.
What are we looking for in you in return?
- Ideally, a recognised higher qualification in concrete construction, Chartered Structural or Civil Engineering status, although we will respect direct relevant technical expertise above Qualifications alone.
- Site based experience in the UK with hands on knowledge of construction in concrete is essential, as is good knowledge of the concrete industry, and the technical knowledge in materials that are concrete related.
- Competent to produce high quality presentations for lectures and webinars, with the accompanying good communications and networking skills.
- Finally, a self-starter, who can self manage a workload independently, but also works closely and effectively with colleagues.

PLEASE NOTE: This role can be performed remotely for the reasons described, but as our Head Office is in Camberley, Surrey, you will need to have good access to attend meetings there when required. Travel will be involved as described, within the UK to Member locations.
