Illustrated with black and white photographs and drawings. First published in 1939 by George Allen & Unwin Ltd, London. This revised second edition in 1941. Preface reads: This is not a book about all kinds post, but about posts for all kinds of plants. posts are the e of experiments to meet the practical needs of cultivation at the John Innes Horticultural Institution at Merton, England.’ Of interest to all keen gardeners.
2. CACTUS GROWING FOR BEGINNERS. By Vera Higgins and H T Marrable. First published in 1935 by Blandford Press Ltd, London. This reprinted second edition is dated 1952. ‘The authors hope that the simple instructions given here will direct the er into sound methods of cultivation of such plants’.
