I am a primary teacher offering online phonics tuition to small groups of primary aged children, both from the UK and Internationally (or older children who you would like to learn English as an additional language using the phonics schemes taught in the UK).

My name is Jess, I’m a qualified Early Years and Primary teacher (BA Hons with QTS, 1st degree) and I have recently trained in TEFL (TESOL – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I have taught nursery, reception and year one classes for over 12 years. I have supported children with EAL (English as an additional language) in my classes, developing English and phonics skills to a high standard and helped to develop confidence within my learners.

I specialise in teaching phonics (ages 5 – 7), pre-phonics and pre-reading skills (3 – 4-year-olds), phonics and reading skills to all primary aged pupils (5 – 11 years) who need additional support, comprehension skills, talking with confidence and developing a love of reading.

I am a teacher who will put your child at the centre of their learning and tailor our phonics sessions to best suit each child. I will make lessons fun, interactive and engaging through the use of practical and visual resources, puppets, storytelling and systematic synthetic phonics schemes (as recommend by the UK government). I have the experience and passion to support your child with their individual needs. Allow me to support your child, build their skills and confidence to ensure they find learning less challenging and most importantly fun!

I am offering online sessions to both UK and International Early Years and Primary aged pupils (5 – 11 years). Sessions run between 10am and 2pm UK time, in small groups (maximum 8 children per session), and are 30 minutes long costing £7 per child per session. Sessions are run in 6-week blocks, payable in advance.

Group sessions give your child the opportunity to interact with other children, ensuring they can develop their English language skills in a supportive and friendly environment and have the support of other children when needed.

Your child will be taught by a highly skilled phonics teacher, a teacher who specialises in the teaching of early reading skills and can help to develop your child’s English language skills by using my vast experience of teaching children.

I currently have availability on Tuesday mornings, UK time.
