Our Risk Analytics Centre of Excellence (RACE) work at the intersection of Data Science, Statistical Modelling and Economics, using data to support the business through model building or providing actionable insights from the data. We draw on statistical modelling techniques to produce the best possible predictive models.
The Senior Modelling Analyst is responsible for undertaking model developments and quantitative and qualitative analysis. As part of the Regulatory Modelling team you'll help to secure the foundations of our business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative analysis across our regulatory model suites, providing solutions to support the acquisition of new business, risk based account management and manage the bank's capital across its Retail portfolios.

Delivering analytical/statistical modelling and data analysis to support the development of the bank's models.Clearly defining problem statements and researching and testing innovative solutions to address these.Reviewing existing models to demonstrate continued performance and identify potential enhancements to the modelling suite.Documenting the process and outcome of your analysis and model development to support internal review, stakeholder engagement and change proposals.Inputting into the scoping, design, development, validation and implementation models.Supporting the development of junior analysts. Practical experience of distilling and interpreting complex data and analysis.Strong analytical skills with a good degree in a numerate discipline subject (e.g. statistics, engineering, econometrics).Some understanding of statistical modelling techniques such as hypothesis testing, probability distributions and Regression.Some experience of model development projects or modelling analytics within banking with an understanding of model usageExpertise in the use of statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS, Python, R) as well as MS Office.Good communication skills both verbal and written.Experience in building trusted relationships with stakeholders.A team building mindset It's a bonus if you have . but not essential
Understanding of advanced machine learning and AI modelling techniques with experience of applying them.Advanced Degree (PhD, Masters) in a data science related area.Experience in Banking and Risk Management.Coaching/mentoring experience.Knowledge of the Basel Capital Requirements Regulation.
