Personal Assistant/ Support Worker Required

Personal Assistant required.
Dennistoun, Glasgow
11 hours over 2-3 days depending on the candidate.
Young male (32) requiring assistance on his recovery journey following a serious illness, surgery and related trauma.
It is his wish to become fully independent again, he is driven in his recovery and is excited to work with someone like minded to aid his process, having fun along the way where possible.
Currently he requires assistance with:
morning routine- assistance with making breakfast, house work, planning for the day ahead, supervision exercise, adding new healthy habits.
Getting access to fresh nutritiona food.
Nutritional shake understanding and preparation (will be taught)
Maintaining motivating and healthy routines,
Assistance with life admin and appointments
Building new community and social connections.

Desired:
Interest in healthy cooking/ nutrition (Individual’s disability is related to digestion)
Someone of similar age or interests
Experience in recovery or disability
No personal or physical care required.
The individual being supported is driven, intelligent and kind natured. He has so far lacked the support needed to rebuild his life around his new disability so is eager to build a strong support team around him. He takes health very seriously and is committed to looking after himself to the best of his ability.
He has a keen interest in and has found great success in alternative and holistic therapies. He is a talented musician and wants to get back into making music as much as possible.
Having proper support and structure will allow him to move on to the next phase of his recovery and be on the road to independence once again.
Other hours could be available for the occasional evenings in support of building healthy sleep routines however, this is not required in this role. Open to discussion upon interview.
No formal experience required, but we are keen to work with someone who is friendly, patient, kind, open minded, strong willed, organised with a good sense of humour.
He is looking for a real genuine team member/friend rather than an archetypal carer.
Training will be provided. Opportunities for external training are available.
Pay is £11.5 p/h rising to £12 following a probation period and will include paid holidays.
