We then appealed against the authority's order and lost. Absolutely fantastic setting at the end of an unmade lane. Very very tranquil. Loads of wildlife. A beautiful place to spend time. You will never want to go home - even in the winter. Externally the building looks like the original. Internal completely different. Warm in winter cool in summer. Extremely quiet. 12 inch thick x 24 inch long Celcon insulating block walls throughout. Solid concrete floors laid on 4 inch Celotex insulation boards. 4 inch Celotex insulation boards in unit one ceiling over pine T&G. 8 inch natural wool ceiling insulation laid over marine ply in unit 2 ceiling. Full electricity. Fantastic tested unlimited and free bore hole water. Septic tank sewage - never a problem in 15 years costs £66 per year. We have the back half of another adjacent barn which we plan to keep for storage - all our spare time pottering about. We never object to anything at all, but planners would be very unlikely to give permission for full residential and do check that we are not using it for full residential quite often. We can stay for as long as we like, but cannot have a fully fledged bathroom or kitchen. Some of the photos are from 2015 and others more recent. To us, it is simply the best place in the world to spend as much time as possible, and we have not even got family!! Apart from about 80 square metres just in front of the barn there is no garden included for the listed prices - but small parcels of land next to or in front of the barn can be bought separately. The front half consists of one room approx 11 metres x 5 metres, two side rooms each approx 1.5 metres x 11 metres, three rooms 2.3 metres x 4.9 metres and finally one hallway approx 1.2 metres x 8 metres.
