ORIGINAL Mick Bensley watercolour - one of his renowned \"Lifeboat Rescues\" paintings. This one is the Cromer Lifeboat \"The Louisa Heartwell\" alongside the schooner \"Zuma\" in September 1906. The painting is mounted and framed.
Mick Bensley was born in Sheringham, studied at Norwich School of Art, and produced his first watercolour paintings of maritime rescues in the late sixties after reading about Henry Blogg, cox of Cromer lifeboat for 53 years and the most decorated RNLI lifeboatman.
Four successful exhibitions of paintings of Norfolk Lifeboat Rescues were held in Holt, Norfolk, and the artist has since gained a reputation as a marine artist of great skill and accuracy, with paintings in private collections around the world.
Mr Bensley now lives on the Sussex coast where he paints and teaches watercolour technique and methods.
