With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload, which will see you provide assessments, plan, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes of occupational treatments and programmes for people with mental health problems.
Working with the wider multidisciplinary team, you will facilitate a flexible programme of OT groups and individual interventions as part of our tiered integrated therapeutic group programme.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will create individual rapports to design and deliver facilitated evidence-based group and individual programmes based on their needs and interest to ensure they engage in their care plans.
With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.
This role is initially a 12-month maternity cover role but has the potential to become permanent. Your responsibilities:
Plan and implement individual and group interventions collaboratively with patient/s.Actively implement evidence-based practice.Maintain accurate patient records, including care notes, written reports and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital and professional standard.Establish effective communication with patients and their cares, all staff and other agencies.Implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid mental health recoveryTo fulfil a variety of duties and responsibilities associated with maintaining a caseload, meeting the standards set in the Occupational Therapy department care-pathway while adhering to HPC regulations.Complete full assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes as per department care-pathway, enabling the patient in areas of self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure. The role is working between Thursday and Friday and you may occasionally be expected to work long days to accommodate evening groups within the Hospital.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Current HPC registration and full BOAT membership with evidence of Continuing Professional Development.A knowledge and use of a range of OT assessments and outcome measures for example MOHO will be required.Some experience of working in a mental health setting is preferred but not essential.To assess and implement treatment and demonstrate good report writing skills. To be able to present findings in an eloquent manner during meetings. A full clean driving would be preferable, but not essential. What you will get:
