I love this. I bought it for my mum as she lived 300 miles from me and kept taking tumbles and couldn't get up off the floor.
I stuck to the Locaite App with the sim that came with it. £7.99 a month. You can get cheaper with the likes of giff gaff. You can set up a DD to take payment or top up when you want, the app will tell you how many days you have left if you haven't set up a DD.
The massive selling factor for me was I could do \"drop in\" calls without my mum having to press anything. When I was researching pendants loads of them couldn't be contacted. So, for example, mum pressed her SOS button to tell me she was on the floor, I could phone a local friend or emergency services and I could CALL HER BACK to let her know help was on the way. Loads of pendants I researched didn't have this facility.
I found it easy to set up and if I can do it anyone can, I'm not very technologically minded!!
The app tells me when she put it on charge which was reassuring for me to know she was in bed safely. I could tell if she'd forgotten to put it on in the morning as the app would tell me the battery was at 100% so a quick phone call to remind her to put it on was occasionally needed. The app will tell you how many % is left in the battery and will text contact 1 when it gets low (about 18%).
Up to 3 contacts can be programmed into the pendant with contact 1 being the main contact. Contacts 2 and 3 don't need the app.
The GPS I found very accurate, not that I really needed that, but I did think if mum was out and about and broke down in the car she could use the pendant if she wanted to and I could locate her and call for roadside assistance.
It has a built in falls sensor that can be adjusted but users should still press the sos button if they can. All contacts receive a fall detected text message and then the pendant will start to call contact 1. If contact 1 doesn't answer it'll systematically call 2 and then 3 until someone answers.
So, same principle for using the sos button. All contacts receive a text message and then the pendant starts to phone.
It did scare the living daylights out of me whenever I got a call or text but it wasn't all worry!!! There's a 2nd button on the side that is attached to contact 1 so it can be used just to phone but my mum couldn't get to grips with that so she just pressed the SOS button just to talk to me!!
