Lazy J 20 Valve Amplifier for sale.
Featuring a custom brown tolex and wicker grill, this is a handmade all valve creation of Jesse Hoff and is a reimagined version of the classic 5E3 Fender Deluxe 'Tweed' circuit but with modifiactions.
The power section has twin 6L6GC and a GZ34 rectifier and it is possible to drop down to 6V6 and a 5Y3 rectifier also without re-biasing.
There are 2 channels and 2 inputs per channel and this amp features all of the circuit interaction that makes the 5E3 circuit so beloved by many.
I have swapped out the Celestion alnico blue speaker for the equivalent 50 Watt rated alnico gold. Still a UK made Celestion but I found the 15 Watt rating of the blue to close to the mark in this amplifier which probably can push 20 Watts easily.
I also had the mains transformer changed for a beefier Hammond transformer after the quite weedy original failed but this Hammond can supply many more amps to the circuit which is more demanding of the mains transformer than the Fender original given it features higher current 6L6GC, a GZ34 and 2 extra valves for the factory reverb unit.
Other features are the reverb option as mentioned with MOD tank and a footswitch to control level and function, a pull mid-boost on the tone control and Jesse Hoff's VAC option which allows the plate voltage (and also now the screen voltage after it was modified) to be reduced and therefore scale the power from ~20 Watts to 5 Watts or so.
The transformer replacement was done by Time Travel Audio in Edinburgh and is the better for it given the amount of power available from the original being quite close to not enough.
The amp has not been used outside my house; never gigged. It is excellent condition with only one very small blemish on the back lower panel as seen in the photos.

The Tweed sound is something to behold. Cleans are obtainable with judicial use of the volume control on the guitar but it's the Tweed frenzy™ that this offers which raises a smile.
I would prefer collection from Edinburgh but I can deliver within about 50 miles. If forced, I can ship but it would be at the buyers risk. If insured courier is arranged I will box appropriately with valves secured separately and some dampening in the reverb tank.
