Future Nature Wildlife Trust Consultancy (WTC) is the wholly owned ecological consultancy of Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust. Future Nature WTC provides paid-for ecological and environmental advice services, to raise revenue for the Trust, and deliver positive outcomes for nature in all types of developments and projects. The consultancy s Land Advice Service (LAS) offers specialist guidance to estates, landowners and farmers, to manage their land sustainably using wildlife-friendly practices. The role is to lead the LAS market proposition: to bid for and secure new contracts in a highly competitive market, deliver projects on time and on budget, and to develop and grow the LAS team within the consultancy. Your objective is for LAS services to make a real impact to support Nature s recovery, and address some of the key challenges facing the wider UK farmed and rural environment. Working closely with farmers, landowners, estates and key stakeholders, LAS participation in projects will increase biodiversity and restore wildlife, improve soil health and water quality, and reconnect communities with their environment and local landscape. What we re looking for; Significant experience of delivering environmentally beneficial land management advice. The ability to operate in a commercial Consultancy environment, and win work in a highly competitive market. An up to date grasp of how and where clients can access sources of sustainable funding and financial incentives, such as Biodiversity Net Gain, Countryside Stewardship, Farming in Protected Landscapes, etc., and advise on the pros and cons of each option. Current working knowledge of land management practices for nature s recovery, including conservation approaches, agricultural policy and agri-environment schemes. Skilled in project management, with working experience of achieving high utilisation rates to deliver profitable results. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to ensure effective communications with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders. Able to lead meetings and present to groups. Evidence of pro-actively engaging with a range of landowners, farmers, estate managers and partners, and bringing parties together to work collaboratively. Experienced in writing and reviewing fee proposals, technical assessments and management plans, able to ensure the quality of the consultancy s reports meets the highest standards.
