We're not seeking colleagues with years of experience, we're just looking for a keen enthusiastic hard working individual to work within and be a part of our amazing Catering Department Team as a Kitchen Porter/Assistant. Don't worry about the skills, we'll teach you everything you need to know.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Porter/Assistant duties and responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
· Assisting with basic food preparation activities, including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables etc
· Setting up dining areas by arranging chairs, tables etc
· Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills, sinks etc
· Cleaning kitchen
· Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
· · Loading and unloading supplies, on and off of delivery vehicles
Receiving deliveries and organizing them in the kitchen and store room
· Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher
· Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
· Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
· Providing assistance to other kitchen staff, as needed
Adhering to all H&S and Food Safety guidelines, whilst maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
The role will entail working a 30 hour week, Monday – Friday 09.30 - 14.30.
Starting Salary: £17,000 per annum with options to extend hours and wage increase
