Join a fun, busy Kitchen in the heart of London! Daytime hours only, 5 shifts per week, evenings off, Brunch and Coffee on shift.
We are currently seeking an innovative Head Chef with enthusiasm for cooking and passion for food.
Friends of Ours is a vibrant neighbourhood brunch café inspired by the famous brunch scene in Melbourne, Australia. We pride ourselves on creating dynamic seasonal menus, using locally sourced bined with a friendly, relaxed service.
Responsibilities
Direct all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and clean-up
Maintain kitchen equipment as needed
Supervise chefs and other kitchen staff
Resolve issues as they arise to ensure the continuation of food-service, and maintain control of the kitchen to ensure efficiency
Plan menus in collaboration with the executive chef and set prices based on the availability of ingredients
Make sure that all staff adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen
Inspect raw and cooked food to guarantee quality
Liaise with the General manager and owner to ensure fluidity between kitchen operations and FOH operations, working together to ensure the overarching goals of the establishment are met
Direct monthly inventory
Maintain supplier relationships
Recruit and train chefs and kitchen staff
Experience & Skills
Motivation and passion for hospitality and cooking.
Effective time management of busy kitchen.
High standard of food preparation.
Attention to detail.
At least 1 years experience in a Sous Chef position.
Strong spoken English and the legal right to live and work in the UK
