Hi! My name is Alex and I am an experienced private tutor specializing in GCSE Maths and English. At GCSE I achieved 11 grade 9 / 8's and in the summer of 2022, I achieved all A* / A's at A-Level. As of now, I am currently taking a gap year which has allowed me to spend more time tailoring different strategies for each of my students.
Having spent the past few years as a student, I am able to offer direct insight into the path it takes to achieve the top grades. Whether it is exam technique with regards to essay-writing, understanding complicated algebra, or breaking down scientific concepts, I am in a great position to help.
Importantly, I understand the stresses of exams and so I value being patient and empathetic. As a tutor I want the best for students, so I am passionate about helping them build confidence in their skills, and showing them the ways to succeed even more. Of course, I also encourage communication, whether between the student, or parent / carer so that we can get the most out of the sessions.
Between sessions, I will set both short-term and long-term goals, and extra-work to help the student as much as possible. Additionally, I will tailor my sessions around the specifications of the exam boards (AQA / Edexcel / OCR / Eduqas), to make sure everything we cover will contribute to success in the final exams.
