We are looking for an eager individual to join our team for one of the Midlands' leading furniture assembly companies, Dr Flatpack. We are expanding so are also recruiting in multiple cities, including Manchester, Bristol and Leeds. Initially starting part time as we train you, you will arrive on site with or without another of our team and be required to follow instructions and help on the builds. You will be taught attention for detail as well as getting familiar with tools, fixings, materials and most importantly, customer interaction.
As a company, our motto is to assemble anything, mount anything. So duties will vary but for the most part assemblies is what we do most. As we train the individual to handle increasingly fragile and expensive items they will be eventually taught correct mounting skills for all things, mainly TV's, curtains, blinds and artwork.
Once the individual has learnt the basics of most furniture types from wardrobes to beds and TV's to shelves we will then consider a full time position with the use of a vehicle. Also depending what tooling they have to start we tend to bulk up items and provide all fixings packs and consumables. During the part time training phase the candidate will require use of their own vehicle, aside from a given daily commute distance we will provide fuel for all other miles.
Once trained there will be availability for overtime or even over night work as we undertake larger builds.
As the job would sort of entail, heavy lifting will sometimes be a requirement. We always encourage customers to move boxes upstairs themselves, but sometimes staff will need to do this, as well as operating single large boxes correctly and carefully for unpacking.
We give full support to our staff, we encourage rest days and weekends, we also encourage family time and personal fulfilment. As the placement continues, we have plans for some really exciting collaborations and contract work, where the candidate will be able to learn further skills that might potentially come with additional financial incentives.
Wage will start at minimum wage per hour and increase from there depending on how responsive to training the candidate is and what they can build per day. All pay is via PAYE. Full insurance is also provided by us.
Once fully trained and getting up to speed you will find that wage can be achieved faster through building things faster, also bonuses are often given for completing more tasks in a day.
