Interacting with other parts of UKAEA and helping to resolve queries, As the Financial Processes Manager you will be responsible for leading, managing and developing the processes function. You will need previous experience of leading a team and working in a processes function. You should have a high attention to detail with excellent communication and time management skills.What will you be responsible for?The role of the Financial Processes Manager is to lead and manage the processes team and to be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of UKAEA's financial processes (Accounts Payable, Employee Expenses and Accounts Receivable). This role is responsible for compliance with all performance measures in this area and has ownership of developing, improving and monitoring strong financial controls and processes.– Leadership and Line Management of the five members of the processes team.– Management and continuous improvement of all aspects of the operation of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Employee Expenses functions.– Production, review and analysis of reports for Senior Management showing key data and metrics about the processes function.– Ensuring that financial controls for the processes function operate effectively and in line with government best practice and that performance measures (e.g. Government targets for prompt payment) are met.– Being the expert for the processes aspects of the finance system and providing training, support, guidance and documentation to internal and external customers about the processes function.QualificationsEssential skills, experience and competence required– Previous experience in an equivalent role including experience in leading a team. – Experience with using finance software as it relates to the functions of the Processes team (Purchase ledger, sales ledger & expenses), including ability to extract data from the system and use the data to produce reports. – Previous experience of accounts payable, accounts receivable and employee expense functions and related responsibilities. – Intermediate Excel, including experience with pivot tables, formulas and linked sheets. – Strong time management skills including the ability to prioritise the workload. – Good written and oral communication skills – Attention to detail. – Ability to work as a team player & under their own initiative.
