Mackay’s General Store is the Durness Village Shop and more in the small but popular village of Durness at the very North West tip of Scotland in the heart of the NC500. We have 2 full time seasonal posts to fill to help complete our Team 2023 Mackay’s operate the Village Store & Post Office as well as rental cottages, B&B & hostel - the village shop is the heart of our community. We are searching a friendly adventurous couple looking for a change of scene and a new pace of life, to join us, initially as general assistants. The roles are varied and each day is different from the next. The days are full and physical so energy and enthusiasm is essential! Our standards are high, we expect a lot from our team but this works both ways. Enthusiastic, innovative and positive people who can think outside the box - Please Apply!
The village of Durness is very beautiful but remote so applicants should have an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. The season is short so we all must work hard but we have a flexible, easygoing approach which makes work really enjoyable. Good People/Social skills are needed for these positions, as is a positive happy attitude to life. Accommodation will be provided if required. Please send a detailed CV and recent picture to Robbie.
