About Us:
At SFiCE Foundation our main mission is community development, to help reduce the effects of food poverty, isolation and ill health within the city of Nottingham.
We aim to do this by providing a number of free to access projects for vulnerable adults and the homeless. We address educational, health & well-being and core needs.
In June 2015 we held our first SFiCE Social Cafe in Nottingham to help ease the effects of food poverty faced by vulnerable people within the city. We now open the social cafe three times a week.
Would you like to be part of our team at SFiCE Foundation where we help the vulnerable adults in Nottingham.
We are looking for an experienced cook to join our charity at our centre at Raleigh Street, Nottingham.
Roles and Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for organising all aspects within the kitchen in order to provide nutritious and well-balanced meals to our service users. We require an experienced and creative part-time cook who can use their skills to produce fresh 2 or 3 course meals using the ingredients already available. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is very important for this role. You will work alongside staff and volunteers.
As the cook you will lead by example on Health and Food Safety, by ensuring compliance of legislation and maintaining kitchen hygiene. It would be advantageous to have Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificates, however we will pay for the training if needed.
As this role involves working with vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS). Two independent references will be required, one business and one personal.
Essential Qualities :
Experience as a professional cook, being able to cook all types of meat with ingredients which have been donated.
Compassion, care and commitment
Excellent communication skills.
A caring and friendly nature.
The ability to work well within a team and independently

The gross pay for this role is £11 per hour
This role is 7 hours a week, every Tuesday afternoon (1:00pm - 6:00pm). Sometimes you will be required to cover for colleague holidays/sick leave
