For sale is x2 Altair starwave Ascent ED80 optical tube assembles or (OTA) for short also matching 0.8x dedicated focal reducers.please note! both of these optical tube assembles are brand new and never been used and remain obviously in mint condition and boxed.As I have close connections with one of the owners of the brand name both of these telescopes and reducers have come into my possession.
And a saving of £150 can be saved overall over original retail costs so will not be excepting at this stage as a significant saving can be made for brand new kit.
The scope consists of Lanthanum FPL-51 glass elements which is not to shabby on optical quality and keeps unwanted chromatic aberration at bay which is vital for EAA,AP,imaging applications.the scope has a fully retractable dew sheild and weighs in at 2.8kg the bare bones weight wise without adding any additional accessories.the focal length comes in at 560mm and a f-ratio of f7 making it at f6.2 once the 0.8x reducer! is added.
This would make a superb cost effective starter scope either for imaging or visual use ideal for both disciplines of the hobby of amateur Astronomy which offers ED,APO quality for the first time making this scope very versatile.i also have x2 brand new Altair finder scopes on offer one is a 9x50 straight through finder scope and the other is illuminated.i would be willing to let these go as an overall package deal at 50% off retail when purchased with the scope and reducer!
