About Us:
Our site at Canterbury Road East in Ramsgate, was first established in 1936 when the then owner Charlie Philpott, built a garage specialising in the sales and servicing of motorbikes. The business ran successfully until the outbreak of World War II when the site was requisitioned by the army and returned to commercial use at the end of hostilities.
Built in the fashionable Art Deco style of the time, the original building was a single storey, with the upper floor and extra workshop space being added as the business prospered. Philpotts Garage continued into the 1960's when the site became a petrol station - the canopy is still in place. Then in the 1980's, the site reverted back to sales and serving, operating as V-Wise - a German car specialist. Then finally as The German Car Centre before Pierremonts bought the site in 2006.
Pierremonts was established in 1988 as a family-owned business in Broadstairs offering servicing, mot's, car and van hire and a selection of used cars for sale. In 2006 we moved to larger premises at our current site in Ramsgate allowing us to double the size of our used car forecourt and increase the number of workshop ramps from two to six along with state of the art diagnostic equipment, a computerised rolling road and a dedicated mot testing area. At this time, we also acquired a new site for our car & van hire operation - now based opposite Ramsgate train station, where we have a modern fleet of cars and vans for hire from compact hatchbacks to Luton van's.

We do of course have our own fully equipped workshops with the latest diagnostic equipment and mot facilities, allowing us to service, maintain and repair all makes of cars.
As a valued customer, we also offer discounts on both your routine servicing and mot costs throughout the life of your car saving you money on main-dealer prices and making Pierremonts a one-stop-shop for all your motoring needs.
For vehicles up to 9 years old, we are able to offer RAC's top-of-the-range Platinum warranty that covers you for the failure of virtually all your electrical and mechanical components, parts and labour up to the standard limit of £500 per claim and for older vehicles, RAC's Gold and silver warranties are also available.
We also offer upgrades to our standard warranties up to a period of up to 2 years and a claim limit up to the value of the vehicle. These upgrades are exclusively offered to our buyers at a preferential rate and whilst you own the car, we offer these same rates should you wish to renew your cover.
