We are looking for a passionate, Front End Web Developer to work as part of a dynamic web and digital team to transform and deliver a best in class website, with UX at its heart. You'll be at home delivering on strategic web projects with an awareness of the changing landscape and technologies.
As an experienced Website Developer, you will be experienced in digital data analysis, UX/UI methods to improve CX. The role will be focused on expanding the ongoing development of a recently deployed UI Kit and will assist the Web Manager and digital and web team in the deployment of this kit across undeveloped key areas of the website.
You will be a passionate and ambitious web developer and a solution driven problem solver who can operate at pace in a dynamic digital and web team environment. The ability to translate UI/UX design wireframes to actual code, bridging the gap between graphical design and technical implementation is essential ensuring a mobile first approach is considered alongside ensuring web and accessibility standards are continually met.
As part of our Digital Team, you will work to transform our website through continuous improvement of our content management system, backend and frontend interfaces and other platforms. With a proven track record and experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, Browser APIs, Front-end frameworks (Ideally Bootstrap or Foundation), front-end optimisation and object oriented programming, you'll have experience of working to optimise the performance of content management systems, of using evaluation metrics, data and analytics to make recommendations, to inform, measure and improve website performance.
Experience of working in higher education and awareness of wider University, HE issues and external changes such as innovations, changes in legislation/regulation, accessibility and compliance which impact on the job in hand would be beneficial.
You will deliver a best in class website, with UX at its heart, delivering on strategic web projects with an awareness of the changing landscape and technologies.
