Providing fully outsourced engineering support as discrete work packages. Our core engineering team has a deep knowledge applying Systems Engineering principles to complex projects, and they are supported by a selection of high-calibre, scarce-skills Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who bring specific domain and discipline knowledge to support our offering. The Role: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Director to join our existing team. This is a post which is of strategic significance for our business and represents a challenging and exciting opportunity to identify, win and deliver multi-disciplinary inputs to a range of multi discipline projects for a wide sector and client base. Our projects are high profile and at the leading edge of professional practice. The successful candidate will be proactive and enthusiastic with substantial experience of delivering multi-disciplinary projects on a medium and large scale. The successful candidate will also have overall responsibility for the engineering function (circa 80 engineers). They will report directly into the MD and have Engineering Management staff and Account Managers reporting to them. Duties and Responsibilities: Definition of the company technological strategy Assessment of technical risk and mitigation planning Establishment of standards and procedures to track and measure the technical progression of project's Evaluation of company engineering staff, identifying strengths, problem areas, and developing plans for improving performance Ensure Synoptix s Associates are SQEP, Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel Evaluation of interviewed candidates for technical positions Scout for and evaluate new technology and tools as opportunities for innovation and development of excellence Oversee technical design documentation process for correctness and timeliness Help to identify high technical risk areas Assist with implementing company policy Assist with developing strategic plans relative to the Synoptix Business Process Model: Support Sales process Assist with Technical Credibility Conduct workshops Support Win work process Creation of Statement of Work Technical Scope of Supply Deliverables Resource planning Technical Risks and Mitigations: Support bid reviews Support the Deliver Projects process Technical acceptance Definition of Technical risk / Mitigation plans Education, Knowledge and Experience: Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline Chartered Engineer status Minimum 10 years experience as Chief Engineer or equivalent role INCOSE CSEP preferable but not essential Benefits: Generous salary package 25 Days holiday not including bank holidays with the option to buy/sell holiday Bike to work scheme Electric car scheme Private health care Employee assistance scheme Please note that due to the nature of our projects we can only accept UK National candidates who will need to be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
