Title: Live- In Support Worker
Location: Milan
Wage/Salary: €16.00 gross per hour, up to €29,952 gross per annum
Essential: This role is only open to EU citizens or those who have the right to work in the EU. Confident supporting young people with limited mobility and experience working within a family home. Physically fit, confident swimmer and non-smoker/ vaper. Valid passport to be able to travel abroad with the family internationally. *Female Only.
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Days & Hours: Up to 36 hours per week. 3- 4 weekday afternoons (2.00pm-8.00pm) and either a Saturday or Sunday 12 hours shift. Whilst on holiday in the summer months, this can change to fit in with the second carer; to include days and nights.
Family/Client Pets: Friendly German Shepherd.
Accommodation: Studio Apartment with kitchenette and bathroom, and separate front door.

About this client/child:
Chloe, 18, is a sociable young lady with a love of music, dancing, trampolining and swimming. She loves being busy and active, whether this is to the local pool, attending school, cooking, reading, and doing various activities on holiday such as surfing and skiing. Chloe has an undiagnosed condition affecting her mobility and communication. She uses a wheelchair but loves to walk a lot too with support. Chloe is non-verbal and uses facial expressions and an iPad to communicate. She requires assistance with all daily tasks, personal care, and feeding. Chloe can bear her own weight and therefore she does not require a hoist.
Overview of role:
Chloe requires a *female support worker to assist with her daily routines and tasks. Chloe requires assistance with all personal care needs, including feeding. She requires a support worker to be proactive and energetic in supporting her to attend school, social activities and assistance in her therapies. In the week, Chloe attends school (with support) until lunchtime and then takes part in her many interests and activities through the afternoon and early evening, including the beach, riding her tricycle, hanging out with her brother (16), going out for ice-cream, swimming, cafes, shopping – the many usual teenage girl activities. Most of the year will be based in Milan, and the family hope to find someone professional and confident to be able to travel with them to the USA within 2 months of the summer. Up to 36 hours per week. 3- 4 weekday afternoons (2.00pm-8.00pm) and either a Saturday or Sunday 12 hours shift. Flexibility needed for 2 summer months in USA. €16.00 gross per hour, up to €29,952 gross per annum.

This job will suit a *Female support worker, with a good amount of professional experience, confident to be lone working and supporting all of Chloe’s additional needs. You will have a good level of maturity and independence to be able to use your initiative when organising and assisting in Chloe’s choices of activities. Good communication between the team of support workers and parents is important; written and verbally. Promotion of Chloe’s independence and advocation for her choices is paramount in this role; the successful candidate will have a passion for helping people reach their full potential. This job is quite physically demanding at times, so will not suit anyone with back problems.
