Job Title: Project Worker - West Yorkshire Positive Futures Location: Keighley Salary: GBP20,444 - GBP23,953 (pro rata) reviewed after 3-month probationary period Job type: Part-time = 15 hours per week - fixed term initially until 31st march 2024. J.A.M.E.S. is a charity and Independent school and we are looking for a Youth Project Worker for our West Yorkshire Positive Futures Project. We support young people who are struggling in mainstream school and/or are vulnerable to various risk factors. The project supports young people to gain self-confidence, to overcome their barriers to learning, to strengthen their resilience and to help them to achieve their potential. We deliver ASDAN Short Course in animal care and Prince's Trust Achieve and as well as learning life skills we try and raise aspirations with visits and outings. The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join JAMES in Keighley as a Project Worker, working with young people who attend our West Yorkshire Positive Futures project. JAMES have delivered alternative and engaging projects to young people for over 35 years. We are looking for a highly motived and enthusiastic Youth Project Worker to work with individuals on Wednesday 9-5.30 and Thursday 9-4.30 with young people referred to Positive Futures. Most young people at JAMES have struggled in a mainstream setting and attend with us due to various barriers to their learning and we support them to build resilience, self-esteem and to decrease risks and vulnerabilities The candidate: You will be able to communicate well with our young people, motivate them, work in a small team within the wider JAMES team and be able to link with other professionals and parents in order to support our young people to achieve their potential and move towards a positive future. You will be passionate about young people and knowledgeable about the barriers and needs they may have as individuals. Closing date: 9AM 30th March - shortlisting will take place on the same day. You must be able to attend interview on the 4th April.
