A leading multi–national engineering manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager based in Clevedon/Bristol area on a fulltime permanent basis.
The Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager will be responsible to definine and manage company's procurement and material supply chain strategy to ensure a resilient supply chain capable of delivering parts on time, to quality at the lowest sustainable cost level whilst leading and developing the team and supporting the General Manager in the wider strategic company objectives.
The role will be managing a team of C.10 people in total through several direct reports, people management experience is essential.

Key responsibilities for the Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager and not limited to:
Deliver parts on time, to quality and cost against the product company strategyDeveloping a network of suppliers capable of supporting current needs and strategic goalsIdentify supply chain risks and develop a risk mitigation strategy to ensure continuity of supplyProvide close support to local operations and commercialising management for strategy and material supply during NPI projectsAlign goals and working practices between all procurement, receiving and material supply teamsDefine and establish integrated and aligned material supply strategies along the entire supply chain (e.g. kanbans, VMI, etc.)Ensure rapid feedback of delivery and quality issues to suppliers, followed by the development of comprehensive and timely corrective actionsBalance customer service and inventory turns through initiatives such as lead time reduction, value stream mapping, etcEnsure that the supply chain strategy is in line with the division's sustainability goalsLead in the development of a culture to ensure continuous improvement in the department.Build and structure a team to best meet the company's objectivesProvide direction and support to all team members, managing and facilitating their performance and tackling first hand, any performance issues that become apparentOversee the team's workload / activities, ensuring correct prioritisation in a fast paced and complex environment Key skills and experience required for the Procurement Manager / Purchasing Manager job applicant and not limited to:
