With over 25 years of experience, this family business has a great reputation for providing a wide variety of services to both industrial and commercial clients. The company is made up of four divisions: electrical, facilities services, fire and safety, access and security.
In your role as Fire and Security Engineer, you will install, maintain and repair fire and security systems, always meeting the specific needs of each customer and delivering a consistently high-quality service.
The successful applicant will work a 10-hour shift and operate wherever customers require your expertise and support.
Fire Responsibilities:
Routine inspection and certification of various fire alarm systems (i.e. addressable, conventional, wired, wireless etc…)
Routine inspection and certification of emergency lighting
Fire Extinguishers certification, service and maintenance
Fault finding to fire alarm systems, installation and commissioning fire alarm systems
Responding to and attend out of hours calls during allocated call out times managed via a call-out rota
Building strong relationships with new and existing clients through excellent service
Willingness to work overtime and to travel/ work away as required
Security Responsibilities:
Installation of access control systems, intercoms, gates and barriers, intruder alarm and cctv security systems
Preventative maintenance & service of access control systems, intercoms, gates and barriers, intruder alarm and cctv security systems
Corrective repairs of access control systems, intercoms, gates and barriers, intruder alarm and cctv security systems
Responding to and attending out of hours calls during allocated call out times managed via a call-out rota
About you:
The ideal candidate will be skilled in fault-finding and clear written communication, which enables them to assist the delivery and quotations team in submitting quotations and reports to clients.
They will also be adept at communicating technical issues to clients in simple terms and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team, including being on an on-call rota.
Experience and Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
At least 3 years of fire alarm experience
FIA Installation and maintenance modules or equivalent (preferred but not essential) in Advanced, Kentec, Notifier, and Gent etc.
Installation and servicing experience in intruder alarms (Galaxy Texecom & Pyronix)
Installation and servicing experience in CCTV, primarily Hikvision
Knowledge of IP networking and wireless transmission systems would be an advantage
Installation and servicing experience in access control, mainly Paxton, Videx, and Came BPT. Experience with Sateon is advantageous but not essential
An electrical qualification would be an advantage but not essential
Full UK driving license
GCSE or equivalent qualifications (preferred)
